Specialties
PTSD & Trauma
Whether you’ve experienced chronic complex trauma over your lifetime or acute traumatic events, S.A.F.E. EMDR combined with additional personalized treatment modalities can aid your healing and growth. Rather than diving in without preparation, I focus on creating an environment of safety and I work with you to strengthen your own internal resources prior to processing trauma through EMDR. Please see the “Services” tab for more information on S.A.F.E. EMDR.
S.A.F.E. EMDR training involves a 6-Day intensive approved by EMDRIA, taught through the Personal Transformation Institute.
Attachment Wounding
Unfortunately, sometimes injurious events or dysfunctional patterns in our early childhood have occurred which continue to impact our perception of self-worth and the stability of our relationships throughout our lives. Sometimes similar wounding has occurred later in life through other key relationships. Perhaps you have read about attachment styles and suspect that you may be experiencing difficulties in this area of wellbeing. Together, we can unpack these wounds and identify the relational patterns and narratives of self they have created, freeing you to move forward.
Faith Transitions & Religious Trauma
No two faith transitions are identical and this experience can entail many complex dynamics - from the social and cultural, to the existential. Spiritual concerns do not always involve a faith exit, and I will never push you to leave your faith, I will simply help you explore and process so that you can come to your own decisions. Faith transitions may or may not involve an experience of spiritual abuse or religious trauma which would benefit from meeting with a professional with experience in this specific domain as well as trauma therapy. Some people are interested in reclaiming spirituality while others are content to move forward without. Regardless of where you are on your journey, I am here for you with non-judgement, fiercely upholding your autonomy every step of the way as I aid you with exploring deconstruction and, if desired, reclamation that is authentic to you.
Anxiety
If you find yourself constantly ruminating, often feeling irritable, high-strung, burnt-out, or on-edge, having difficulty with decision making, and/or experiencing trouble sleeping, you may be experiencing anxiety. While anxiety to some degree is a natural part of life, if it is preventing you from engaging in the things you value, you may benefit from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, along with other interventions from select modalities, to disengage from the stuck pattern, form new narratives of self, and move forward with the parts of life that are most important to you. We may also engage in somatic practices to aid with reducing nervous-system burnout.
Life Transitions & Other Concerns
Sometimes life has thrown us a few twists - we may feel positively or negatively (or oftentimes both) about these changes. Such concerns may be ending relationships, new relationships, graduating, beginning college, moving, parenting issues, changes with work, or any big difficulties that leave us with a significant alteration in our roles, routines, or identity.
Or, sometimes we find ourselves feeling disconnected from ourself, our loved ones, and our values. We may find ourselves considering existential concerns. And, as we all do at some point, we may be experiencing grief. Regardless of the situation, if you find yourself needing mental health support and feel we may be a good fit, please reach out for consultation.
Additional Information on Treatment Approach & Modalities Can Be Found Under The “Services” Tab
